Goleza Designers is a home based business, specialising in stamp-making, logo and web designing. It was founded in 2008 to fill a niche in the market, using modern technology and providing quick and professional services. We operate in two locations of Nammere Zone in Mpererwe, Kawempe Division, Kampala district and Jomo Kenyatta Rd in Gulu in northern Uganda. It was registered in August 2008.
Goleza Designers offers its services to businesses, schools, private and government institutions, NGOs to mention but a few. Our aspiration is to serve all our customers with quality stamps, logos and professionally designed websites to meet their satisfaction.
Where do we come from?
Our business logo was artistically designed to give to our potential customers a feel of what business we are engaged in: designing. It is in three colours: orange, black and white. The business name Goleza, inscribed on the logo, has its origin from our initial business name “Go laser”, which came to our mind when we thought of making a laser engraving business. However, as we went on to develop our business plan, we realised laser engraving systems cost a handsome amount of money, which we could not have our hands on to begin the business.
Since our entrepreneurial heart was pushing us to begin a small scale business and make it grow, we thought of an embroidery business. Even with the embroidery business, we discovered that it also involved a huge amount of starting capital. We finally opted for a stamp-making business as an entry point into the business world. Our final destination is to have a laser engraving business. We made our plan in such a way that we incorporated the four core businesses: stamp-making, embroidery, designing and laser engraving.
When we finally go into laser engraving, the name will then rhyme well with our business. And our slogan will then be appealing to our potential customers to go laser engraving as opposed to traditional methods of engraving.
Personal Profile
My name is Charles Kiyimba and I am the owner and developper of golezadesigners.com. I am a Ugandan, born in Masaka district. I was once a school teacher, specialising in teaching French (Français). I taught in several primary and secondary schools for about 10 years and my last school being St. Joseph's Girls S.S., Nsambya.
In 2000, I left teaching and joined SOS Children's Villages Uganda, an organisation that provides long-term family based care to orphaned, abandoned and destitute children. I have been a teacher, a leader, a manager, an advocate for child rights, a story writer, a parent to so many SOS children and now an upcoming entrepreneur.
Over the years, I have acquired a lot of skills, designing being one of them. I feel very passionate about it and I have taught my wife, with whom we do our business.
