Is starting an internet home business right for you? People have varying motives for starting businesses. Though most people consider joining conventional businesses as opposed to online businesses, online businesses are many times more lucrative, convenient and reliable than most traditional businesses. But having a motive for joining online business, like in any other conventional business, is a deciding factor to building a successful business. In this article, I would like to share with you some of the reasons as to why you should consider starting an internet home business.
1. Chance to make money
The most important reason for starting an internet home business is to make money. Did you know that the internet has opened numerous opportunities for us to make money? Some of the wealthiest businessmen in the world made their fortune from the computer and the internet. Did you know that? Interestingly, home online businesses do not require much startup capital like most conventional businesses. With just a computer and internet access, you can start an internet home business to sell your products.

If you are really friends with the internet, then joining online business is the right and convenient idea for you. People who venture into businesses which they love tend to succeed because passion is the driving force to build a successful internet home business.
3. Maintain yourself active upon retrenchment or retirement from your formal employment.
Most people start internet home businesses to get ready for that time when they will retire or be retrenched. If you are currently employed with a nice salary but concerned about what you will do after retirement or after being retrenched, it’s wise for you to start and grow slowly your internet home business.

Do you want to create jobs for other people in your community? The internet has great opportunities for all people of walks of life. You can start your internet home business, develop it and eventually use it to train others and to create jobs for them in your community. For instance, you can create article writing jobs for the youth to write articles in different fields of their expertise, which you can buy and use them in your article marketing campaigns.

Optimizing Your Articles – Practical Ways Of Optimizing Your Articles To Boost Your Online Business With Your Article Marketing Campaigns.
Optimizing your articles is a very important aspect in article marketing if you want your targeted audience to find your articles when they do a keyword search at any search engine. Keyword optimization is a simple process although many times it’s not easily understood properly by newbies. In this article, I would like to give you easy-to-understand guidelines and ways of optimizing your articles for better search engine rankings.
Before optimizing your articles, it’s important to know what search engines are and how they behave. They are simply websites, which run software popularly known as “Spiders” or “Robots”. These robots constantly move around the internet in search of new webpages to index. Search engine indexing is a process of collecting and storing data to facilitate fast and easy recovery of information. Major search engines include mainly Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask.
When a search engine is indexing a page, it scans the page while looking for specific keywords. The pages that rank high when internet users make a search are the most relevant to search queries. When you write your article and submit it to online directories for publication or upload it to your website, you create new webpages that are subject to being indexed by the search engines. If your article does not rank in the top 10 or 20 search results, it’s practically difficult for your targeted audience to find you. This is the reason why you have to focus on optimizing your articles.
To succeed in your online business, you need to generate a steady stream of traffic to your website. Article marketing is one of the techniques most successful online marketers use to drive traffic to their websites. But for you to benefit from article marketing you have to optimize your articles.
Optimizing your articles is a key factor in driving targeted traffic to your website. A good amount of traffic originates from search engines. Most internet users go to a search engine like “Google”, type in a keyword phrase like “Track your adverts” and look through the first 10 results. Many times, they find what they are looking for in the top 10 results. If your article is among the first 10 results and has an attention grabbing title that solves the problem of your targeted audience, the chances are that it will be read. Not only that your targeted visitors will follow the resource box links to your website to get more useful information.
Optimizing your articles will include all of the following:
1. Carrying out a keyword research.
When making a keyword research, there are mainly 2 aspects you have to look for: keyword demand and amount of supply for the keyword.
i. Keyword demand refers to the number of people who search the internet every month using the keyword you want to use. If your keyword is “track your adverts”, get to know how many people search it. You can easily get this information by visiting Google’s Keyword Research Tool.
The tool will give you other related keywords with varying monthly searches, from which you can also select suitable keywords. It’s advisable to select a keyword with a reasonable monthly demand.
ii. Amount of supply for the keyword refers to the number of websites that supply that keyword. For example, how many sites supply the keyword “track your adverts”? You can get this information by doing a search at Google. While searching, envelop the keywords in quotation marks as in “track your adverts”. This helps you to get results only containing specifically the queried keyword. It is advisable to use less competitive keywords, the ones with a less supply and for which you can work your way to a higher search engine rank.
2. Optimizing your article title.
Put your main keyword or keyword phrase at the beginning or near the beginning of your article title. This is mainly because search engines consider early words and if your keyword is near the beginning of the title, you have more chances of ranking well.
Additionally, it’s also good to place your keyword twice in the title for even better results. For instance if your keyword is “track your adverts”, you can phrase your title as “Track Your Adverts – Tips On How To Effectively Track Your Adverts”.
3. Optimizing your article content.
Place your main keyword near the beginning of the first sentence in each of your article paragraphs. It should also appear in the last sentence of each paragraph. Secondly, the keyword density of your article should be at least 3% of the entire article.
Content optimization is really a big challenge. Your keywords must flow with the article so that you don’t seem to be only working at keywords at the expense of your article quality. Besides, it can turn your article into a boring piece of information to the readers due to too much keyword repetition. The onus is therefore on you to optimize your content well.
4. Optimizing your article resource box.
A resource box is a brief description about yourself and your business with links to your website, normally found at the end of each article. This is one of the most important parts of your article because it’s the one that drives your targeted audience to your website. Apart from writing it in an attention-grabbing way, it also has to be optimized to target generic traffic.
In the resource box, use your main website keyword or keyword phrase (NOT your article keywords) as an anchor text to link out to your website. For instance, your resource box can read like this:
“XY is a Child Rights Specialist who helps parents with specialized knowledge and skills on how to raise their children into responsible children through his Child Rights Forum. Visit to learn and to share your parenting knowledge and skills with other forum members”.
“Child Rights Specialist” and “Child Rights Forum” are the anchored texts with links to the website.
The above ideas on optimizing your articles are basically what you should know to have your articles (which you submit for publication to online directories or post to your blog) positioned strategically in the search engine rankings. It’s by so doing that your article marketing campaigns will effectively boost your online business. Good luck!

What’s a communication calendar? It’s just a simple plan comprising of all your scheduled marketing campaigns, events and activities in the course of 12 months. It’s also a record of the different ways you plan to use to remain in touch with your customers. These may include email marketing, newsletters, article writing and submission, information updates, advertising campaigns, product and website promotions. The onus is on you to think of any other promotional activities that you may include in your calendar or plan.
For instance, if your plan is to use article marketing and a newsletter in January to boost your online business, you should specify in your communication calendar when and what you intend to do as in the example below:
January:
i. Articles (8 articles, 2 per week, submitted for distribution on Tuesdays & Fridays) on email marketing and auto responders.
ii. Newsletter (one newsletter, submitted in first week) on Happy New Year and website promotion.
Your communication calendar should have the right amount of communication to your customers. It should neither be too little or too much for it to act as an important tool for boosting your online business. It’s important for you to know what you want to achieve and come up with your calendar of activities. If you give too little or too much, your communication calendar will not be effective.
For instance, I have come across many article marketers, who upload and distribute over 15 articles in just one month. If you are an article marketer, remember that you have readers who subscribe to your RSS Feed and continue to receive each and every article you submit. While quantity is very important in article marketing, quality is even more important. Your readers may not want to be bombarded with so many articles, especially if they lack in quality content, within a very short period. They also read useful information from other sources and have limited time.
You can have different communication calendars for different customers groups depending on their needs and problems for which you are trying to provide a solution. For instance, you can choose to have a plan for existing customers and another one for prospects.
Why should you have a communication calendar? People create plans for various reasons. But let me share with you 5 reasons I consider to be crosscutting.
1. A communication calendar helps you to maintain a trusting relationship with your customers, which requires a high level of quality service delivery, believing in your words and promises, listening to your customers, solving their problems and being innovative. You can never achieve in all those areas if you do things haphazardly.
2. Having a communication calendar makes your planning easier. You are able to know what to do and when to do it. You are able to know how to do your tasks from a well informed point of view. You can attend to your customers’ needs and expectations by analyzing the flow of touches from their point of view and reflecting yourself on important aspects of your business vis-à-vis your customers. Am I doing enough or too much? Am I doing the right activities and in the right order?
3. A communication calendar makes it easier to transmute your desires, thoughts and innovations, into actions that will help you to grow your business. Having it written down and committing yourself to fulfill each and every aspect of it is a proven way of walking your way to success in your online business. Transforming your desires, thoughts and ideas into their monetary equivalency is only achievable by taking action and the channel through which you attain your plans is your communication calendar.
4. Your communication calendar helps you to coordinate your activities. Online marketing entails performing various activities to boost your business and it’s not easy to fulfill those activities in a more coordinated manner without proper planning. Each part of your calendar supports and links to each other. Your calendar therefore helps you to be efficient and effective.
5. Having a communication calendar is very rewarding. There is nothing more motivating than seeing yourself achieving in each and every aspect of your plan. At the end of each day, each week, each month and each year, you are able to evaluate yourself depending on the achievements made. This is great! Even when your achievements have not been transmuted into their monetary equivalency, you derive satisfaction from the progress, which in turn is a basis for future achievements.
As I wind up, it’s important for you to know that while creating your communication calendar, your challenge is to think hard and deep, basing your planning on different sources of information like the feedback you get from your customers. A well thought-out plan, which is exhaustive enough and well-balanced, can help you to boost your online business. Try it out!

Creating a marketing plan is a prerequisite for any person conducting business. Whatever business you are involved in, you need to base your marketing campaigns on a well laid out plan so that you do not lose track and run your business blindly. Have you ever created a marketing plan?
Surprisingly, not many online marketers think about creating a marketing plan. They just begin their online businesses and end up jumping from one failed marketing method to another. But if you are a success-conscious marketer, you need to have a WRITTEN MARKETING PLAN to avoid doing things wrongly. In this article, I would like to share with you 9 steps for creating a successful marketing plan.
1. To create a successful marketing plan, you need to read to understand the different online marketing and advertising methods. If you are a newbie, you need most importantly to equip yourself with some knowledge on online marketing before you create your marketing plan.
2. Understand your market and competition. To create a successful marketing plan, you need to first find out what the marketplace is, what happens in it and what its trends are.
Additionally, get information on your competitors by finding out who they are, what they sell, how they sell it, what their marketing methods are, what makes them stand out, how their websites are, what their weaknesses are and what they don’t offer that you could offer. You can easily get this information by searching on the internet.
3. Get to know properly your targeted customers. You should know who they are, how and when they buy, what their problems are, which solutions they are looking for, how they respond and find what they buy, what they say and what needs to fill the gap.
4. Discover the position of your business. Find out more about the product you intend to sell or promote and how you will position your business. Find out what your strengths and weaknesses are, your field of business and expertise, lives and challenges of your customers and the different niche groups in your line of business.
5. Develop your marketing messages. A successful marketing plan should entail in-depth information on what your brand is, what your unique selling point, strap-line and marketing slogans will be. Remember that your messages have to cause action to be taken. It’s a reason why you need to develop them carefully and strategically.
6. Set your marketing goals. A successful marketing plan clearly spells out the vision for your business, what you want to achieve, your specific achievable goals and your priorities. Your goals have to be stated clearly in that they are not only SMART but they are also SMARTER (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time bound, extended and rewarding)
7. Determine your marketing methods. Get to know the marketing methods competitors use and what works for you best basing on your strengths, knowledge, skills and ability. Focus on how you will get new customers and maintain old ones as well.
8. Develop your budget. When developing your budget, base on the marketing methods you have selected to determine the total cost of your marketing campaigns, the resources you need to invest in your marketing and what your return on investment will be. Having a marketing budget is a key to creating a successful marketing plan.
9. Map your marketing strategy. Creating a successful marketing plan requires you to focus on how you will progress in each and every aspect of your plan. You should focus on what is needed to set up your business and the steps and practical actions to be taken. Project your anticipated obstacles and deadlines and how you will track, evaluate and review your strategy.
Finally, having a marketing plan is a necessity for any success-conscious online marketer. Always have it written down and make it as simple as you can. Your marketing plan serves as your guide. It’s your commitment that helps you to walk your road to success in a systematic manner. If you have been doing things haphazardly, it’s high time you created a marketing plan for your online business.

Your Strengths Determine The Success Of Your Business – Do You Know Them?
Do you know your strengths and your weaknesses? Have you ever taken trouble to know who you are and what you have before you begin any business? If you are already in business, how are you progressing? Don’t you think it’s high time you carried out a self-evaluation to know your strengths and weaknesses better?
The success of your business will depend largely upon your strengths and behaviors. I have noticed that most people find it easy to know about others and do not take the trouble to find out who they are in terms of their behaviors. They instead feel more comfortable talking about their achievements and the behaviors of others. But to be successful in your business, you need to know very well who you are in terms of your behaviors, your strengths and your weaknesses.
In this article, I would like to share with you on how you can develop your self-awareness to discover your strengths and weaknesses. But before I can go any further, let me define your STRENGTH as a quality or ability you may be having that gives you an advantage in any given business. On the other hand, your WEAKNESS is a deficiency or failing in your character.
Ability to identify your strengths and weaknesses helps you to determine the kind of people you will work with to compliment your behaviors, especially in the area of your weaknesses. Let me illustrate this point further with the example of someone who becomes angry easily and wants to start a restaurant. If you are such a person, you could consider working with people who are sweet-tempered.
In another example, if creativity is your strength, it would be better for you to start businesses where you can apply your own creativity. Take advantage of your strengths to grow your business. Where you have weaknesses, seek support in form of learning, being coached or employing others to compliment your strengths.
Additionally, knowledge of your strengths and weaknesses determines the kind of training or coaching you need to grow your business. For instance, if you are involved in affiliate marketing, where you have to use article marketing as a method of promoting your business, but you find yourself unable to write good articles, you can consider acquiring this skill by learning.
Being familiar with your strengths and weaknesses is very important for you to start or conduct any business. Equally important is knowledge about your behaviors because they play a big role in running your business. They determine the destination of your business: success or failure. There is a saying that “A good person with a second class idea is better than a good idea with a second class person”. Change your behavior positively for the success of your business.
How can you know your strengths and weaknesses?
The best way of doing it is to carry out a self-assessment, using the following guiding questions:
1. What natural abilities do you have? What are you talented in? For instance, are you naturally creative, sociable, resourceful, persevering, persistent, honest, determined, self-driven, hard working and humorous? What else are you?
2. Which things do you do better than most people? What are you skilled in? This helps you to discover where you can have an advantage over other competitors in your business industry.
3. How have you grown in the last year? Think about things that have helped you to reach your current level of growth. Knowing them is important for you to strengthen further your achievements.
4. What most difficult things have you accomplished? What helped you to accomplish them? Think about carrying forward those qualities that helped you to arrive at your achievements.
5. What are you proudest of? As you do your business, what do you feel proud of yourself and proud of your business? And what do you feel least proud of? Use the information to build your brand identity and expertise.
6. On what do you receive compliments about? Knowledge about the kind of compliments you receive helps you to determine what to do to target the motivations that compel other people to do business with you.
7. What upsets the people you work with? This helps you to know the kind of support and training you need to succeed in your business.
8. What criticism do your closest friends give you? Getting to know from your closest friend helps you many times to receive genuine criticism that enables you to find solutions to the weakness.
9. What criticism would your boss give you? By boss I mean mainly your customers. What kind of criticism would you get from them?
10. What areas of your behavior do you have to improve in? What skills and knowledge would you acquire? The success of your business will depend largely on your behavior. Besides, many business ideas are generated from the skills and knowledge one has.
Lastly, if your weaknesses exceed your strengths in any kind of business you want to start or you are conducting, then that’s not a business for you. My advice is that you take advantage of your valuable characteristics when conducting a business. But also consider looking at your weaknesses as opportunities and find solutions to them. Your ability to do this will contribute a lot to the success of your business.
